Today, it remains one of Oman Air’s strongest-performing routes, with up to 14 flights operating each week.

Düsseldorf becomes Air Arabia’s third destination in Germany from Sharjah, joining Munich and Frankfurt in the airline’s growing European network. Air Arabia will operate the new route with an Airbus A320neo, with flights starting on December 16 this year.

The airline’s Middle East network spans Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Doha and Kuwait, with carefully timed schedules offering passengers connections via Colombo between the Middle East and southern Indian cities.

The MoU will allow both carriers to explore single-ticket travel across their networks. This would connect Garuda Indonesia’s network in Indonesia and Australia with Saudia’s destinations across the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Under the MoU, both the companies have collaborated on establishing a framework for supply and offtake of SAF blended Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) at designated airports across India.

The airline operated 135 aircraft, including 101 based in Vietnam, across 254 routes, transporting 28.2 million passengers on over 153,000 flights. For India market, Vietjet expanded its presence in India in 2025 by launching new routes connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru with Vietnam, complementing its existing operations from Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.

The airline will introduce the Airbus A321LR twice daily to Mumbai and New Delhi, complementing twice daily wide-body services to each city.

The Ministry has issued directions to the AERA to reduce landing and parking charges by 25% for 3 months from the prevailing tariff at all major airports under its purview. These measures are expected to reduce the charges payable by airlines by approx. INR 400 crores.

Director General, Willie Walsh said that with tight capacity and thin margins, air fares are already rising, and the capacity deployment is also adjusting, particularly for traffic to, from, or through the Middle East, or in areas where fuel supply is an issue. Capacity growth scheduled for March, has eased to 3.3% from earlier predictions of over 5%.

The flight, scheduled to depart from Helsinki, will be operated daily via Bangkok with an Airbus A350 aircraft. The first flight is expected to be on October 25, 2026, subject to government approval.
