The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has reopened to tourists, marking the start of the annual visitor season. Authorities have reportedly urged travellers to support ongoing conservation efforts by helping protect the valley’s ecosystem, which is known for its biodiversity and rare plant life.
Officials said the alpine valley is currently blooming with more than 300 species of flowers, including several uncommon and ecologically significant varieties. According to online reports, the Valley of Flowers will remain accessible to visitors until October 31.
Given the region’s rugged terrain and unpredictable mountain weather, authorities are also issuing safety advisories and operational guidelines for tourists. The measures are intended to ensure a safe and comfortable experience while preserving the ecological integrity of the protected site.
