Routes USA ends on a high note

World Routes 2013 was the most successful Routes event to date with delegate numbers exceeding 2700, the largest core delegation ever, including 250 airport CEOs and 20 airline CEOs.

For the first time World Routes was held in the USA, and as a result 43 new American airports attended ensuring attendance from 39 of the 50 largest airlines in the world along with 109 tourism authorities and a wide range of aviation based companies helping Routes gather key decision makers from across the globe from all key industries.  The Hosts Las Vegas Convention, truly unique locations, ensuring a successful event.

The World Routes Strategy & Tourism Summits were attended by over 1000 delegates and was Routes’ most complete and content packed conference programme to date with discussions debating many current industry issues. This in combination with The Invest & Manage programme meant World Routes offered expert opinions into the hot topics in the aviation industry today.

The World Routes Strategy Summit, in partnership with ICAO and the World Bank and sponsored by Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) saw two full days of lively interactive panel discussions debating many current industry issues including: The State of the Industry, Airport Models for the Future and Airline Mega Mergers to name a few.  The Summit brought together many high level industry speakers such as Bob Jordan, EVP & CCO, Southwest Airlines & President, AirTran Airways; Angela Gittens, DG, ACI World; Giorgio Callegari, Deputy CEO, Aeroflot Russian Airlines; Tom Windmuller, Senior VP, Airports, Passenger and Cargo Services, IATA; Rossi Ralenkotter, President, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority; Rosemary Vassiliadis, Director of Aviation, McCarran International Airport; Rosemarie Andolino, Commissioner, Chicago Department of Aviation; Dr Sani Sener, CEO, TAV Airports Holding; Lee Seow Hiang, CEO, Changi Airport Group and a fascinating insight by Stephen Attenborough, Commercial Director of Virgin Galactic, into the most ambitious aviation project on the planet.

The World Tourism Summit, in partnership with PATA, ICTP and TTG and sponsored by Brand USA comprised of three days of dynamic panel discussions and keynote presentations with leading industry speakers including: Lee McCabe, Head of Travel, Facebook; Christine Duffy, President & CEO, CLIA – Cruise Lines International Association; David Scowsill, President & CEO, World Travel & Tourism Council; Roger Dow, President & CEO, US Travel Association; and Christopher L Thompson, President & CEO, Brand USA alongside a number of insider briefings from various destinations across the globe.
