Ranthambore sees record advance safari bookings for upcoming tourist season; 14,000 foreign tourists registered

Advance safari bookings for Rajasthan's Ranthambore Tiger Reserve have received an overwhelming response, with nearly 40,000 registrations recorded within two hours of the booking window opening for the October–December tourism season.
As per a national news agency report, around 14,000 registrations were made by foreign tourists, marking the first time international visitors were able to book safaris directly through the official online portal.
Deputy Conservator of Forests, Ranthambore, Manas Singh, said, “The digital platform was designed to ensure a fairer allocation of safari permits while improving accessibility for both domestic and overseas visitors.”
Officials also stated that the portal remained fully operational despite experiencing heavy online traffic. During the booking process, the system identified and blocked multiple suspicious activities, including unauthorised access attempts, flagged IP addresses and fraudulent booking requests, without disrupting normal user operations.
A major change introduced under the new system is the ability for foreign tourists to book safari permits directly through the official portal from their home countries. The administration said the facility received encouraging traction on its first day, with international visitors accounting for nearly 40% of total bookings. The Ranthambore administration said the digital initiative is intended to make safari reservations more transparent, efficient and accessible for all visitors, while reducing irregularities in the booking process and improving the overall user experience.
The strong demand underscores Ranthambore's continued popularity among both domestic and international travellers and reflects the growing global interest in India's wildlife tourism offerings.
