P. C. Vishnunadh becomes the new Kerala Tourism & Culture Minister

Known for his strong grassroots connect and youth-centric political approach, he is expected to play an important role in strengthening Kerala’s tourism and cultural sectors.

P. C. Vishnunadh has been inducted into the new Kerala Cabinet as the new Tourism Minister following the United Democratic Front’s (UDF) return to power in the state after a decade under the leadership of Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan. Reports indicate that Vishnunadh has been assigned the Tourism and Culture portfolio in the newly formed government. He replaces P. A. Mohammed Riyas who served as the Minister for Tourism and Public Works Department (PWD) in the Government of Kerala since May 2021. 

A senior Congress leader and four-time MLA, P. C. Vishnunadh currently represents the Kundara constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. Born on March 30, 1978, in Kollam district, he began his political journey through the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and later served as President of the Kerala Youth Congress. Over the years, he has held several key organisational positions within the Congress party, including Working President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and AICC Secretary.

Known for his strong grassroots connect and youth-centric political approach, he is expected to play an important role in strengthening Kerala’s tourism and cultural sectors.
