Odisha to roll out EVs around Dhauli for tourists & locals

Odisha is planning to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) for both tourists and residents travelling around the heritage destination of Dhauli as part of efforts to strengthen sustainable tourism infrastructure in the region.
According to an online report, the announcement was made by Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, during a review meeting focused on assessing the progress of tourism infrastructure and destination development projects being implemented across the state. Discussions during the meeting centred on improving visitor experiences at Dhauli, one of Odisha’s prominent heritage and Buddhist tourism sites.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the status of beautification and integrated development projects linked to the Kapileswar Temple, Sukhmeswar Temple and Dasia Bauri Pitha, along with other heritage destinations located along the Bhubaneswar–Puri tourism corridor.
Officials were instructed to carry out the proposed projects in coordination with relevant departments and authorities after obtaining the necessary approvals. The meeting additionally reviewed tourism promotion strategies for the Bhubaneswar–Puri corridor ahead of the upcoming Rath Yatra, which is expected to witness a significant influx of pilgrims and tourists.
