Mauritius Tourism concludes multi-city roadshow in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Indore

The roadshows, held on June 2, 3, and 5, 2026, marked presence of over 300 total attendees and comprised a delegation of 26 representatives from across the Mauritius Tourism ecosystem.

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) concluded its multi-city trade roadshow across three dynamic outbound markets, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Indore, on June 2, 3, and 5, 2026 respectively.

The roadshow comprised a delegation of 26 representatives from across the Mauritius Tourism ecosystem, including DMCs, luxury hotels and resorts, experience and activity providers, and airlines. The event marked presence of over 300 total attendees, inclusive of travel agents, tour operators, and travel trade media.

From January to mid-May 2026, Mauritius welcomed 25,930 Indian visitors, a 19.1% year-on-year increase over the same period in 2025. These numbers confirm Mauritius's success in effectively catering to the diverse preferences of Indian travellers.

Commenting on the initiative, Dinesh Burrenchobay, Chairman, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, said, “India is close to Mauritius in every sense, geographically, culturally, and emotionally. Indian travellers often refer to it as a’ home away from home’, and yet each time they return we ensure that they find something new to discover. Mauritius is an island that reveals itself over time, and no two visits are ever quite the same, whether it is a family finding a new corner of the island, a couple celebrating a milestone, or solo travellers seeking something beyond the expected. This roadshow was our opportunity to bring that versatility and depth straight to the attention of India's travel trade, and to ensure they can share it with confidence with their clients. We want Mauritius to be an unforgettable experience for our Indian travellers”

“The hype among the Indian tourists is also consistently growing, as reflected in the statistical data. Events such as these will allow MTPA to channel that energy into stronger partnerships and better-informed selling. The conversations we had during the three-days gave us every reason to be excited about what comes next,” added Sunil Mathapati, Country Manager, MTPA India.

The event also received a positive review from the trade partners, underscoring the strategic value of MTPA's outreach, Veena H, Wayfarers Hub - Bengaluru, added: “Thanks to a full-day format, we had ample time for in-depth discussions and one-on-one meetings with quality hoteliers and B2B DMC partners that were genuinely fruitful.”

“The roadshow provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, establish new partnerships and better understand the evolving needs of the Indian outbound travel market. We were particularly encouraged by the strong interest shown in Mauritius and in our brand across all three destinations,” added Jason Britter, Director of Sales Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius, who participated from Mauritius.
