The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announced the joining of the Malta Tourism Authority as a Destination Partner, further strengthening collaboration with one of Europe’s most dynamic tourism destinations and the host of WTTC’s Global Summit 2026 in Valletta.

As the organisation responsible for promoting Malta as a leading tourism destination, the Malta Tourism Authority plays a key role in supporting the country's tourism industry. The MTA works closely with government, industry partners, local communities, and international stakeholders to help tourism drive economic growth while protecting Malta’s cultural heritage.

The partnership comes at a particularly significant moment as Malta prepares to host WTTC’s Global Summit in Valletta from October 7–9, 2026, bringing together CEOs, ministers, investors, and tourism leaders from around the world to discuss the future of Travel & Tourism. The event will showcase Malta’s tourism success story and provide a platform for strengthening public-private collaboration while highlighting the destination’s commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.

Jo Etienne Abela, Minister for Tourism, said, “Malta’s partnership with the World Travel & Tourism Council comes at an important moment for our tourism sector and for our country as we prepare to welcome the world to Valletta for the 2026 Global Summit. We want Malta to remain a destination that offers quality, authenticity and memorable experiences, while ensuring that tourism continues to create value for our economy, our communities and future generations. Hosting the WTTC Global Summit is a recognition of Malta’s growing role on the international tourism stage, and we look forward to using this opportunity to showcase the very best of the Maltese Islands and our vision for the future of tourism.”
