Ladakh records 3.30 lakh tourist arrivals between Jan - July 2026

Tourist footfall crossed the one-lakh mark in both June and July, with 1.07 lakh and 1.05 lakh arrivals respectively.
Ladakh has recorded more than 3.30 lakh tourist arrivals between January and July 2026, nearly matching the 3.35 lakh visitors registered during the entire calendar year 2025.
Sharing the figures on X, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena highlighted the region’s strong tourism performance in the first seven months of the year. Tourist footfall crossed the one-lakh mark in both June and July, with 1.07 lakh and 1.05 lakh arrivals respectively.
The growth has been attributed to improved tourism infrastructure, streamlined tourism reforms and the recent grant of industry status to hotels in the Union Territory. Major cultural and tourism events, including the Hemis Festival, Sindhu Mahakumbh and Ladakh Astro Week, have also contributed to attracting domestic and international visitors.
The administration has further highlighted the expansion of Ladakh’s road network and improved year-round connectivity as key factors supporting tourism growth and creating livelihood opportunities for local communities.
