Amadeus delivers new hotel capabilities for leisure travel sellers

The capabilities are powered through a strategic connectivity with HyperGuest and aims to help leisure travel sellers navigate an increasingly fragmented marketplace.

Amadeus has announced two new hotel distribution enhancements designed to help leisure travel sellers navigate an increasingly fragmented marketplace. The developments aim to provide critical technical infrastructure to scale modern direct contracting programs while expanding room inventory within Amadeus’ net-rate merchant program.

Delivered via Amadeus Leisure Connect Plus and Amadeus Value Hotels, respectively, these capabilities are powered through a strategic connectivity with HyperGuest.

The capabilities added to Leisure Connect Plus help sellers digitally manage and distribute their own private hotel agreements more efficiently within the Amadeus Travel Platform. The single connection accesses over 150 channel managers via real-time APIs, enabling sellers to automate rate and availability updates, onboard hotels faster, and distribute their content across sales channels, all while retaining control of their hotel content and commercial strategy. This helps replace existing manual, fragmented workflows and reduces the need to maintain multiple separate integrations.

It also supports market trends, as leisure hotel sellers are shifting towards modern retailing and multi-source models. With AI-assisted search increasing expectations for clearer, more comparable hotel content, sellers need efficient ways to manage private rates alongside scaled net-rate supply.

Additionally, Leisure Connect Plus enhances sellers’ ability to personalise private rate hotels for the specific needs of leisure travellers. Upselling becomes more streamlined as the platform allows sellers to offer targeted add-ons such as breakfast, parking, upgrades, early or late check-out, kids club, spa and more.

At the same time, HyperGuest connectivity brings an additional 15,000 directly sourced independent properties into Amadeus Value Hotels, improving the competitiveness of the net-rate leisure hotel content, and enabling sellers to increase revenue.

Beyond expanding hotel inventory, the partnership also provides access to richer and more granular hotel content, including detailed rate plan information, property attributes and optional services. This helps travel sellers merchandise and personalise hotel offers more effectively, while supporting the structured content requirements that will become increasingly important as AI-assisted travel discovery evolves.

“Fragmentation within the distribution cycle has been one of the biggest challenges I have faced throughout my career in tourism, and Amadeus Leisure Connect Plus provides an elegant solution. By simplifying connectivity across varying supply lines, it enables us to scale our distribution strategy while maintaining full control. We’re already seeing tangible benefits through reduced distribution friction, broader product access, and a significant step towards an AI‑ready travel distribution ecosystem,” said Claire Matanda, Head of Ecommerce & Digital Development, Abbey Group.

Mirja Sickel, Executive Vice President, Hospitality Distribution, Amadeus, said, “Leisure hotel distribution remains a significant focus for Amadeus as the industry moves rapidly toward modern retailing. This partnership reflects Amadeus’ multi‑source hotel distribution strategy, with Amadeus orchestrating the end‑to‑end experience with HyperGuest’s excellent capabilities as a behind‑the‑scenes enabler, giving sellers more inventory to sell on their own terms, allowing hotels to expand their reach and providing travelers with the chance to personalise their leisure experience. The richer and more structured hotel content available through this connectivity also helps prepare the industry for a future where AI increasingly influences how travel products are discovered, compared and selected.”
