VFS Global expands Australia network with 6 new Indian Consular Application Centres

Key enhancements include an increased number of service counters, higher staffing capacity, and greater appointment availability to support improved service efficiency and reduced waiting times.

VFS Global has announced the strategic launch of six new Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. This expansion represents a significant infrastructure upgrade designed to streamline consular service delivery for the Indian diaspora and the broader travel sector in Australia.

For travel agents and Destination Management Companies (DMCs), the new centres offer critical operational advantages, including an increased number of service counters and higher staffing capacity. These enhancements directly result in greater appointment availability and reduced turnaround times, enabling trade partners to provide more efficient and reliable services to their clients.

The centres provide a suite of premium facilitation services, such as document return, SMS tracking, and form-filling assistance, to further simplify the application journey. Accessibility is bolstered by extended operational hours and a 24/7 toll-free multilingual support network featuring AI-integrated digital channels, ensuring seamless coordination for time-sensitive travel requirements.

With the transition to the new locations and systems, applicants are advised to review the updated website for revised procedures, including application checklists, designated GPO box details for postal applications, accepted payment methods, and applicable service fees.

Old centres have already ceased public operations with effect from June 30, 2026.
