Travelport & Aeroitalia sign a multi-year content agreement

Under the arrangement, Travelport-connected agencies will gain access to Aeroitalia’s content through Travelport+.

Travelport and Aeroitalia have signed a new multi-year content agreement. The agreement will see Aeroitalia’s content made available through Travelport, expanding access to finer, more relevant content in the local market, with rich content and branding capabilities set to be activated from year two of the agreement.

Under the arrangement, Travelport-connected agencies will gain access to Aeroitalia’s content through Travelport+, addressing a gap where the carrier’s content has previously only been available through competitor platforms. From year two, content and branding capabilities will also be activated, giving agencies the tools to present a fuller, more visual picture of Aeroitalia’s offer to their customers, including resident fares available for sale on Travelport’s GDS.

Aeroitalia’s content will be accessible to agencies through Travelport giving agencies normalised, curated content and consistent servicing, all in one place.

Massimo Di Perna, Aeroitalia Chief Commercial Officer, said: “This agreement with Travelport is an important step in making our content more accessible to travel agencies as we continue to grow our network across Italy and beyond, while at same time giving travel agents around the world broader access to our network and partnerships with major global carriers. Our evolving portfolio of partnerships is increasing visibility and connectivity in international markets, and our presence on Travelport lets our partners sell Aeroitalia interline itineraries through the platform.”

“This agreement closes a content gap for our agency network and reflects our commitment to giving agencies access to the airlines their customers want to book. We look forward to building on this partnership as we bring rich content and branding capabilities online next year,” added Damian Hickey, Global Head of Travel Partners at Travelport.
