Tourism Australia hosts the great airfare sale

Tourism Australia, in partnership with eight airlines – Air Asia, Air India, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Scoot, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, and Qantas, has launched an exciting campaign to encourage travel Down Under – the Airline Market Place. The Airline Market Place features top airfare deals from airline partners, offering customers the chance to fly to Australia at attractive, return economy fares starting from just Rs. 23,000 (T&C apply)! The campaign will run from 21 November 2016 to 11 December 2016, and the fares will be valid for travel up to 30 September 2017. The campaign will be advertised in print, digital and television media during the three-week period.

“I strongly believe that aviation access is a key to the success of a destination, and the increasing strength of connectivity from India to Australia is a big contributor to the rising numbers travelling Down Under. There is no better way to encourage and entice Indians to embark on an Australian holiday than to host an airfare sale. Our airline partners, who are also amongst our strongest supporters, have come on board to offer travellers competitive fares to Australia, as a part of this Industry-first initiative. Our key distribution partners and over 5,000 Aussie Specialist Agents will be encouraged to launch and sell packages at great prices. We look forward to a great sale period,” said Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager, India & Gulf, Tourism Australia.

For the month of September 2016, Australia welcomed 19,500 Indian visitors, recording a growth of 21 per cent over September 2015. Total arrivals for the year ended September 2016 stood at 249,200; an increase of 9.6 per cent over the previous year.
