Telangana is stepping up efforts to attract international investment into its tourism sector, engaging with US-based investors, business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora ahead of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in December.
According to online reports, leading the outreach, Vani Prasad, Special Chief Secretary–Tourism, held a series of discussions with prominent business figures, media personalities and high-net-worth investors in the US, showcasing opportunities across the State, with particular emphasis on its eight designated Special Tourism Areas (STAs).
Highlighting Telangana’s potential for early investment, Prasad pointed to opportunities spanning hospitality, tourism attractions, museums, technology-enabled visitor services and data-driven solutions. She encouraged investors to participate in developing international-standard tourism infrastructure and enhancing visitor experiences across the State, beyond Hyderabad.
Dawn Drew, former Vice President and Publisher of National Geographic, described Telangana as an “undiscovered gem” in India, recognising its potential as an emerging destination.
Sunil Hali called for positioning the State among American travellers through the message “Discover Telangana”, while Dilip Chauhan underscored the strengthening relationship between the two cities with the phrase “New York meets Hyderabad”.
