Taiwan Tourism concludes roadshow in Delhi ahead of nonstop service between Delhi-Taipei

The event brought together 70 travel trade agents and media representatives to familiarise them with Taiwan’s expanding tourism landscape.

Ahead of the launch of a new direct service between Delhi and Taipei by EVA Air from December 1, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) organised a roadshow at Le Meridien, New Delhi on October 9. The event brought together 70 travel trade agents and media representatives to familiarise them with Taiwan’s expanding tourism landscape.

Speaking during the event, Noel Saxena, CEO & Founder of Blink Brand Solutions, highlighted that Indian arrivals have grown significantly in the country. “Taiwan saw 20% growth year-on-year in 2023. In 2024, the country saw about 20.9% growth and 2025 witnessed 20.10% growth,” he shared, noting that leisure travel is also steadily catching up with the historically dominant MICE segment.

For the roadshow, StarDream Cruises and EVA Air came on board as Cruise and airline partners respectively. Key representatives from Apple Travel Service, Welcome Wonder Travel Service, Top Holidays; and Good Time Vacations were also present at the event.

During the event, Saxena sought feedback from travel agents on the key barriers to selling Taiwan in the Indian market. Limited direct air connectivity emerged as the biggest concern, followed by visa procedures, cruise options, destination visibility, food and cultural familiarity. He noted that Taiwan’s destination management companies have now developed a better understanding of the Indian market.

Addressing these concerns, a Taiwan Tourism Administration representative highlighted ongoing efforts to improve connectivity and ease visa access for Indian travellers. For passengers transiting through Taiwan on onward EVA Air flights, half-day transit tours have also been introduced to encourage short visits to the destination.

Visa facilitation was another key area of focus. For leisure and MICE travel, groups of five or more can apply for a group visa, which the representative said takes seven to 11 working days to process and does not require financial documents. Sticker visas are processed in approximately two to three working days at the Taiwan embassy in New Delhi, while applications through the Mumbai and Chennai offices take around 20 working days, they explained.

During the destination presentations, trade partners were also introduced to Taiwan’s diverse regional circuits in Yilan, cultural landmarks in Taichung, and port-city attractions across Kaohsiung.
