In 2025, international visitor spending exceeded outbound travel spending by USD 3.96 billion, generating a significant net inflow of foreign exchange. The country also welcomed 2.5 million international visitors, an increase of 5.6% compared with the previous year, reinforcing its position as a key gateway and growth market for tourism in Africa.

By 2035, global demand for workers in Travel & Tourism will outpace supply by more than 43MN people, leaving labour availability 16% below required levels. According to the report, the hospitality industry faces an expected gap of 8.6MN workers, around 18% below the staffing levels needed.
