Air India’s services to Rome had remained suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, convenient connections for travellers from Italy to destinations across Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia via Delhi will be offered four times a week.

Air India guests can fly non-stop from Delhi, Mumbai or Chennai to Singapore and take onward journeys with Scoot to these destinations in addition to many other points across the Scoot network.

The partnership aligns with both airlines’ goals to enhance regional cooperation and support tourism growth through stronger network integration, smoother connections, and improved customer experience.

The appointment strengthens Air India’s presence across the China market and enables seamless access for travel agents and customers to the airline’s global network.

Air Canada customers will benefit from domestic India connectivity to Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi via Delhi, and to Delhi and Mumbai via London (Heathrow).

Delhi-Shanghai service to operate four times weekly, starting February 1, 2026. Mumbai-Shanghai service planned for launch in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, said the airline’s official statement.

The restored route will see five weekly flights operating from Sunday to Thursday, utilising the advanced Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Plans to expand to Sydney, Los Angeles, and destinations across Europe, the program ensures end-to-end convenience, from a traveller’s home city to the embarkation port and back.

Air India is set to boost its domestic and regional connectivity under its Northern Winter Schedule from October 26, 2025. The expansion to enhance links between cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur, Indore, Bhopal, and Varanasi, and short-haul international destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Bali, catering to strong travel demand.

Air India will operate two daily flights on the route with its Airbus A350-900 aircraft and two daily flights with its Boeing 787-9 aircraft
