RARE India hosts ‘Discover RARE’ event

RARE India, which is a collection of some of the finest palace stays, boutique hotels, wildlife lodges, homestays and retreats of the sub-continent, hosted its annual ‘Discover RARE’ event at the India International Centre in New Delhi. Targeted towards marketing, sales and product teams in the travel sector, the session aimed to help the participants understand the various destinations and products of the RARE Community so that they can creatively design itineraries to offer unique experiences to global travellers.

Founded in 2004, the RARE India Community currently comprises of a unique collection of 63 hotels spanning three countries – India, Nepal & Bhutan – and 45 hotel brands. Most of these hotels are set away from the repetitive and regular routes, aspire to tread softly on the land they are set in and preserve the innocence of the destination. They are experiential hotels and hospitality concepts with a quality and style quotient that appeal to the world traveller. All these properties believe in sustainable tourism and are working with the community while being personal and high on service. In short, they are a ‘RARE’ collection of hotels and concepts that offer the perfect immersive experience to the evolved traveller.

Shoba Mohan, Founder, RARE India said, “Discover RARE is our attempt to turn our annual Chai and Samosa meeting into a learning experience for the travel and hospitality sales and marketing community. With the global hotel industry pegged at over US$500 billion and evolved travellers seeking more personalised travel experiences, there is a need to offer a blend of immersive experiences while establishing a special connection with the destination. In this context, meaning is the new luxury. Boutique and experiential hotels that reflect this idea are now a major focus area for innovation in the travel and hospitality industry.”

She further added, “By leveraging our two decades of experience in providing perfectly curated experiences to our customers, through Discover RARE we intend to help the industry understand the changing need for fresh narratives, new routes and destinations.”

A key attraction of the event was a workshop by Brain Coach and Motivational Speaker Reeba Kapoor on the topic ‘The big picture and brand stories’.
