Effective July 20, Himalian will lead the overall operations and strategic direction of IRCTC following the resignation of Sanjay Kumar Jain as CMD.
The Ministry of Railways has appointed Rahul Himalian to take additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC). This transition follows the resignation of Sanjay Kumar Jain. Himalian, who currently serves as Director (Tourism & Marketing), steps into the leadership role at a pivotal moment for the Navratna PSU as it continues to expand its footprint in the hospitality and travel sectors.
Himalian is a 1999-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) with over 26 years of experience. He has been serving as a whole-time Director (Tourism & Marketing) since February 2024 and providing leadership to key departments including Tourism, Infrastructure, Administration, Rajbhasha, Information Technology, and Human Resource Development.
Effective July 20, Himalian will lead the overall operations and strategic direction of IRCTC with the assumption of the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director.
