Pickyourtrail records 10% YoY surge in Pose-cation; launches Thailand photoshoot holiday

According to the platform most requested frames in Thailand are Phuket, at Promthep Cape and Ao Sane Beach; and in India are Bangalore followed by Delhi and Chennai.

Indian couples have found a loophole in the photoshoot economy. Instead of booking a shoot at home, a growing number are booking a holiday and taking the shoot with them. The Pose-cation, a trip planned around a photoshoot, where the destination is the backdrop and the pictures are the souvenir, is showing up across honeymoons, anniversaries and babymoons. Pickyourtrail reports a 10% year-on-year surge in search volume for photography-focused holidays.

What began as a pre-wedding idea is spreading to every milestone. Honeymooners lead Posecation bookings, followed closely by couples celebrating anniversaries, with babymoons and ‘just because’ Instaworthy trips joining the mix. The shoot is no longer about the wedding album; it is about marking any moment worth framing. Responding to the demand, Pickyourtrail has launched its Thailand Photoshoot Holiday, occasion-led itineraries.

The most requested frames are in Phuket, at Promthep Cape and Ao Sane Beach. Bangalore is leading the Posecation wave, with nearly one in four bookings coming from the city. Delhi and Chennai follow closely.

For a trip built around a camera, Thailand ticks every box. It is a short flight from most major Indian cities, easy to access for Indian travellers [confirm current visa rules before release], and offers city skylines, beaches, cliffs and islands within a single trip. That variety means a couple can shoot a city look in Bangkok and a sunset look in Phuket on the same holiday.

Sharing his perspective on the emerging travel behaviour, Hari Ganapathy, Co-founder and CEO, Pickyourtrail, said, “Travel is increasingly becoming about the experiences people want to create and remember, and for couples, photographs are becoming as much a part of the holiday as the destination itself. With the Sooper Hit Photoshoot Holiday, we wanted to bring these two experiences together in a way that reflects how people are travelling today. Thailand offers the setting for this, with its beaches, cities and scenic landscapes, allowing travellers to experience the destination while capturing the occasion.”
