Oman Tourism Concludes 4-City India Roadshow In Mumbai

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman recently concluded its four-city India roadshow in Mumbai. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the travel trade. The roadshow commenced with Delhi on 24th July 2023 followed by the cities of Jaipur, Kolkata and in Mumbai.

In attendance at the roadshow were 12 private players from Oman with two airlines, Oman Air and Salam Air, and also had key representatives present including the delegation from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

Commenting on the roadshow, Asma Al Hajry, Deputy DG of Tourism Promotions, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman said: “Our interactions with agents indicated a strong and enthusiastic dedication to promoting Oman as a top destination for their clients. India has always been a significant ally for Oman, not only in terms of tourism but also due to shared values between the two countries. We take pride in India maintaining its position as the second-highest contributor of tourist arrivals to Oman and eagerly anticipate the country reaching new heights in terms of visitor numbers.

The growth of tourists from India in April this year as compared to the same month last year, stands at a remarkable 126%, signifying the growing popularity amongst Indian visitors. Last year, we had 3,52,398 Indians visit Oman. We anticipate even more numbers this year as we have already recorded 2,34,509 Indian visitors till May this year, this stands at over half a million Indian visitors to Oman this year.

Arjun Chadha, Country Manager India, Buzz Travel Tourism also added: “The Oman roadshow in Mumbai was a resounding success, and it was heartening to witness the overwhelming response from the Indian travel trade. Oman’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and thrilling adventure activities make it an attractive destination for Indian travelers. As the Country Manager, I am excited to curate unique and immersive travel experiences for our clients. With the growing interest in experiential travel, Oman offers a perfect blend of tradition and modernity that will undoubtedly captivate the hearts of our travelers. We look forward to strengthening the ties between India and Oman through tourism and exploring the diverse opportunities this partnership brings.”

The event, which saw a strong turnout, facilitated successful business interactions between the Indian travel trade and Oman Tourism officials. With over 100 agents participating, few lucky winners won gift stay vouchers from the stakeholders and the airlines.
