Hotel occupancy is further expected to grow through May and June.
Manali is seeing a strong uptick in visitor arrivals this season, according to the latest ANI report, with both industry stakeholders and travellers showing renewed enthusiasm.
According to hotelier Chaman Kapoor, the current season could turn out to be a record-setter. Hotel occupancy is presently hovering between 70% and 80%, with expectations of further growth through May and June.
He credited the rise in footfall to favourable weather conditions, traces of snow still visible in the higher reaches, and better preparedness across the tourism ecosystem. Hoteliers are rolling out special offers, while taxi and auto operators are also preparing to receive guests in the true spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’.
Kapoor also renewed his call for reopening Rohtang Pass, describing it as a major draw for the destination. He pointed out that although access was previously restricted following environmental concerns raised by the National Green Tribunal, the operationalisation of the Atal Tunnel has eased traffic congestion, strengthening the case for allowing tourist access once again.
