Madgaon-Karwar Express launched; to boost travel and trade between Goa & Karnataka

V Somanna, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, on Thursday, flagged off the Madgaon-Karwar Express service from Madgaon station, aiming to strengthen rail connectivity between Goa and the coastal districts of Karnataka, officials said.

According to his post on Instagram, the occasion was graced by Goa PWD Minister, Digambar Kamat, senior railway officials including Rajeev Kumar Mishra and Asha Shetty, along with distinguished leaders and officials of the Railway Department.

This new train service aims to strengthen connectivity between Goa and Karnataka, particularly the coastal districts of Karnataka, while improving travel convenience, boosting economic activity, and supporting regional development.

The new train service is expected to provide a convenient, affordable and efficient travel option for commuters, students, tourists and business travellers, while further promoting tourism, trade and socio-economic development across the region, they said.
