The collaboration combines Wego’s deep understanding of MENA travellers and local market dynamics with Juspay’s payment orchestration capabilities.
Juspay, a global payments technology company, announced the expansion of its partnership with Wego, online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), to support Wego’s continued growth across the Middle East. As Wego enters new markets across the region, Juspay is enabling rapid integration of local payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, banks, and local payment methods (LPMs).
Payment preferences can vary significantly between markets, from debit and credit cards to digital wallets and other locally preferred methods. Through its partnership with Juspay, Wego can bring new payment partners on board more efficiently, expand the range of payment options available to travellers, and develop checkout journeys tailored to individual markets.
The collaboration combines Wego’s deep understanding of MENA travellers and local market dynamics with Juspay’s payment orchestration capabilities. This allows Wego to adapt the checkout experience as it scales while maintaining the simplicity, relevance, and reliability travellers expect from its platform.
Since partnering with Juspay, Wego has strengthened payment performance across its platform, with improved authorisation rates supported by intelligent transaction routing, 3D Secure optimisation, and automated retries. These capabilities help route transactions more effectively, recover eligible failed payments, and provide greater visibility into payment issues through unified error mapping, enabling faster resolution across providers.
Alexandre Morin, Director Payments, Risk & Fintech at Wego, said: “Wego has built its leadership in MENA by understanding how travellers across the region search, compare, and book travel, and by continuously adapting our platform to their evolving needs. Payments are an important part of that experience. As we scale across markets with different payment behaviours, our partnership with Juspay gives us the flexibility to offer more locally relevant ways to pay while maintaining a simple and reliable booking journey. This is part of our broader commitment to using technology and local market insight to make travel easier and more accessible for our users.”
Nakul Kothari, Head of APAC & Middle East at Juspay, said: “Travel payments need to work reliably across markets where customer preferences and payment infrastructure can vary significantly. Wego’s scale and deep understanding of travellers across the Middle East make this an important partnership for us. By combining that regional expertise with our payment orchestration technology, we can help Wego adapt to local payment ecosystems while supporting a consistent experience as the business continues to grow.”
Through Juspay’s unified payment orchestration layer, Wego can connect with more than 300 PSPs and acquirers globally, giving the travel marketplace greater flexibility to introduce payment methods across markets without complex individual integrations. Backed by Juspay’s global infrastructure, which processes more than 300 million transactions daily and surpasses USD 1 trillion in annualised Total Payment Volume (TPV) with 99.999% uptime, the expanded partnership brings together the strengths of both companies: Wego’s scale, regional travel expertise, and understanding of MENA consumers, and Juspay’s global payments technology and infrastructure. Together, the companies aim to support Wego’s continued growth while making the journey from travel discovery to successful booking increasingly seamless and locally relevant.
