The Chief Minister stated that in the coming years, this airport will take the state’s economy, industry, tourism and global connectivity to new heights.

Noida International Airport, Jewar, to be known as ‘Narendra Modi International Airport’. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved the proposal, describing the decision, taken on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life, as a symbol of the state government’s gratitude towards the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister stated that in the coming years, this airport will take the state’s economy, industry, tourism and global connectivity to new heights. With this sentiment, the Cabinet has approved naming the airport ‘Narendra Modi International Airport’.

The Chief Minister said, "Approximately INR 60,000 crore has been spent on 42 national highways spanning around 2,483 kilometers in Uttar Pradesh. Projects such as the Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway have given fresh momentum to connectivity in the state. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat/RRTS project, costing more than INR 30,000 crore, has set a new benchmark for high-speed public transport in the country."

He added, "Metro networks have expanded in Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Noida-Greater Noida. Jewar International Airport is set to become the new hub of this changing connectivity landscape. The CM described it as the largest airport in Uttar Pradesh and a project that will develop into one of the country’s major aviation hubs in the future.”
