ITA Airways announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), aimed at developing a strategic partnership to promote the Italy System, enhance the country’s attractiveness, and support traffic flows to and from Italy.
The Memorandum – signed by ITA Airways Chairman Sandro Pappalardo and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani during the Conference of Italian Consuls Around the World held today at the Farnesina – identifies several key areas of cooperation. These include growth diplomacy through the exchange of information useful for route development and the internationalization of Italy’s economic system; sports diplomacy, including the possibility of preferential fares for individuals involved in international sporting initiatives; and joint participation in conferences, forums, trade fairs, and promotional events in Italy and abroad.
The agreement also provides for the possibility of introducing special fares for initiatives promoted by MAECI, as well as sharing studies, analyses, and statistics on market trends, international demand, sustainability, and workforce development.
"Air transport is not merely a service, but a truly strategic infrastructure supporting the competitiveness of Italy’s productive system", said Chairman Sandro Pappalardo. "Italy’s diplomatic network represents an essential asset in supporting the Company and enhancing its international presence”.
The Chairman added, "As Italy’s reference airline, ITA Airways contributes every day to representing abroad the values that make our country recognizable and appreciated worldwide: quality, elegance, reliability, and manufacturing excellence. We sincerely thank the Ministry and Minister Tajani for their valuable contribution to the development of our international activities, and we reaffirm our full commitment to strengthening areas of cooperation in order to better serve our country’s productive ecosystem”.
