IHCL expands its presence in Europe with opening of Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt

The hotel features 126 rooms and suites across eight categories, restaurant, bar, spa, fitness centre, and meeting spaces.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) opened Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, located in Frankfurt’s trade fair district.

The luxury hotel marks the debut of the Taj luxury hospitality brand on mainland Europe. The hotel features 126 rooms and suites across eight categories. Seven suites offer more than 80 square metres of space, including the 140-square-metre Royal Presidential Suite. The culinary offering includes Bombay Brasserie, which blends North Indian and European influences, along with the Lobby Lounge & Bar and the iconic Jimmy’s Bar. Additional facilities include the J Wellness Circle spa and fitness centre, meeting and private dining spaces, and The Chambers, an exclusive members-only club.

The hotel was introduced by General Manager Albert Mayr, Spiridon Sarantopoulos, Senior Vice President, Operations Europe & USA and Gaurav Pokhariyal, Chief Operating Officer – Full-Service Business.

Mayr said, “With Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, we are reopening a property that has long been an icon of the hospitality landscape while reimagining it for the future. Great hotels do not thrive on their past alone; they thrive on how their future is shaped.”

“The combination of this hotel’s rich heritage and the international stature of the Taj brand provides a strong foundation for a successful future. We aim to offer our guests an authentic Taj experience while preserving the distinct character of the former Grandhotel Hessischer Hof,” added Sarantopoulos.

Pokhariyal said, “With Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt, we are marking an important milestone in IHCL’s growth journey. Frankfurt, as a major European hub for business and culture, is the ideal gateway for introducing the Taj brand to continental Europe. We are proud to bring Taj’s signature hospitality to guests in this market.”

Among the guests at the opening celebration were State Secretary Karin Müller, former dressage rider Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff, Detlef Braun, CEO of Messe Frankfurt, and advertising icons and television presenters Nina and Julia Meise.
