Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa, the maiden retreat & spa in India from Hilton Hotels & Resorts has been felicitated with the ‘Innovation’ award for its unique IT infrastructure implementation over a widespread and difficult terrain, at the HATT Summit 2013.
Commenting on the occasion, Andreas Kraemer, General Manager, Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa said, “The property is spread across 320 acres over a hill top at a height of 650 meters above sea level and includes an internal 12-kilometre road. We have used GPON to connect our villas and public buildings for communication and in-villa technology, resulting in seamless service. We believe this kind of technology has not been used on such a large scale and in such terrain.”
The jury comprised of Ajay K. Dhir, Chairman, HATT, along with members of the advisory board of HATT and the APAC CXO Forum, who are experts from the hospitality, healthcare, aviation, and travel and tourism industries. The conference witnessed participation by various hospitality companies, national tourist organisations, cruise operators, airlines and Online Travel Agencies.
