BULGARIA RECORDS 60.5% GROWTH IN INDIAN ARRIVALS

As a result of aggressive marketing, Bulgaria has registered a record growth of 60.5 per cent in the Indian tourist arrivals from the period January-August 2014 in comparison to the same period in 2013.

“The growth itself is a result of the substantial efforts undertaken by the Commercial and Economic Affairs Office of Bulgaria to India team for the last two years. The results show how the destination is gaining momentum among the Indian travellers. We need to develop this success story for Bulgaria in India and unleash the potential to become the preferred European destination for the Indian MICE and FIT travellers. We are looking forward to a rolling success further in 2015,” Stefan Ionkov, Head of Commercial and Economic Affairs Office of Bulgaria to India, said.

The main objective is to increase awareness among the Indian travellers on Bulgaria and its USPs, among which is the popular nightlife, the rich shopping options, the luxurious SPA, Hot Mineral Springs (Bulgarian hydrothermal, sea mineral, bioclimatic & mud treatment),golf resorts, and the supreme quality of organic food and finest Bulgarian wines – offered at the best possible value for money. Various types of tourism namely wine, culinary and recreational tours are becoming a rage among Indian travellers.

In 2015, Tourism Bulgaria in India has various activities in the pipeline. It plans to organize its participation in major tourism events, media and agents FAM trips and other activities to increase awareness on the destination.
