British Airways brings its first Dreamliner to Hyderabad

British Airways’ 85 years of rich legacy in India witnessed the grand arrival of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Hyderabad today through its association with one of India’s most revered actors, Amitabh Bachchan. British Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft touched down at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad last week. The brand new aircraft was adorned with a plaque commemorating and honouring Amitabh Bachchan. This collaboration signifies rich legacy, commitment and success in the Indian market for both British Airways and the actor.

Commenting on the occasion Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia said “We are delighted to announce yet another milestone in British Airways’ history in Hyderabad. Our very first Dreamliner 787 has made its landing here yesterday morning and what better way to mark this momentous occasion than to honour the iconic Mr Bachchan to commemorate this successful launch. Our customers from Hyderabad can now take advantage of new levels of comfort and reduced jet-lag thanks to improvements in air quality, mood lighting, and quieter cabins, all features of the new 787. We welcome you all and do hope you enjoy the experience.”

Amitabh Bachchan said, “I am delighted to be associated with the launch of British Airways’ 787 Dreamliner in India. London is one of my favourite destinations and there is no better way to travel to the city than with British Airways. The service, food and flat beds on the long haul flights are second to none and I always arrive feeling well rested. My family and I have been flying with British Airways for years. The airline holds a strong legacy in India and I hope they continue to serve us with the same zeal and fervor, forever.”
