Kenya Tourism Board eyes 25% growth from India

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has tied up as the ‘Associate Sponsor’ of the IPL cricket team Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) to reach out to the Indian Travellers. KTB has embarked on this association considering the influence of the sport, especially cricket and its popularity, to drive awareness and consideration for Kenya, as a preferred holiday destination. Destination Kenya, targets an year on year growth of 25 per cent.

With over 64,000 Indians travelling to Kenya during the year ending 2016, India has been one of the fastest growing markets for Kenya. At present India is the 3rd largest key source market and our aim is to reach the magical figure of 100,000 Indians by 2018.

Keeping in sight the growing popularity of the destination in the Indian market and to further boost its visibility as a diverse holiday choice for Indians, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has associated with the most loved game of Indians.

Kenya Tourism Board facilitated the RPS Players and also created an opportunity for the Maasai Cricket Warriors to have a go at the RPS, in a super-over game. Apart from the above KTB also is running online promotions whereby participants can win trip to Kenya, Match Tickets and Signed Cricket Merchandise.

KTB wanted to reach out on pan-India basis to each and every Indian, looking for a holiday option that is, full of natures’ delight, culture, heritage and unique unmatched experiences. Kenya is a destination, for family bonding, honeymooners, corporate team building, golfing and other soft adventures. Be it safari or the turquoise blue waters with white sandy beaches, or the Mt. Kenya region, Kenya with its average climate (ranging from 20 to 28 degree celsius) throughout the year, is a fascinating destination on the equator.

Magical Kenya will occupy space on the RPS’s official match-day as well as the training uniform. KTB and RPS will rollout joint initiatives for advertising, promotions and other communication platforms through various mediums, to engage with cricketing fans across India.
