Dubai unveils ‘Summer is Dubai’

In a bid to achieve Dubai’s tourism vision for 2020, Dubai Events & Promotion Establishment (DEPE) recently introduced its 2013 edition of the global ‘Summer is Dubai’ campaign in India. The campaign highlights the leisure and tourism offerings of the Emirate and showcases the city as a summer destination with its world-class infrastructure, hassle-free entry and ease of transportation. The campaign will be promoted through a series of digital marketing initiatives.

The ‘Summer is Dubai’ campaign aims to attract visitors to the emirate with festivities, special occasions and celebrations that are a feature of Dubai’s summer season, including Dubai Summer Surprises and Modhesh World, and a number of other events, before the season moves into Ramadan, and finally Eid in Dubai. ‘Summer Is Dubai’ is in line with the vision of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position the city as the region’s ultimate family tourism destination throughout the year, and especially during the summer

Saeed Mohammed Measam Al Falasi, Director Strategic Alliances, DEPE said, “This year we have brought all our summer events under one grand umbrella campaign, ‘Summer is Dubai’. The campaign is an innovative initiative to position the emirate as an attractive summer destination and comprises of promotional events such as Dubai Summer Surprises Modhesh World. It also covers cultural and commercial festivals. During the campaign period, special promotional fares for hotels, apartments, activities and major attractions are being offered. The campaign has already received great response from India and to leverage on that we decided to have an event around the campaign to create awareness.

DEPE is actively promoting the campaign, offering a great opportunity for families to visit Dubai for a short break and avail of innumerable discounts and offers. The participating hotels and attractions are offering complimentary stay, food and free entry for kids below 12 years of age during the period. “We will be running the campaign across several mediums, backed by trade partners to cater to the demand generated. The campaign in itself is a grand offer for travel agents to sell the destination,” Al Falasi added.

Speaking about Emirates being the airline partner, he stated, “Emirates has undoubtedly always been the number one choice to fly with. Emirates has always supported DTCM and DEPE and helped position U.A.E as a preferred destination for vacationers. Particularly for this campaign Emirates has designed cost effective packages for Indians visiting Dubai between June and September.”
