Mumbai’s iconic Terminal 2 and India’s first integrated vertical passenger terminal at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (GVK CSIA) completed a year of operations today.
Since commencing of its operations on February 12, 2014 the terminal has recorded several significant milestones, the latest being the operation of domestic flights from T2. Vistara was the first airline to commence domestic services from T2. Besides Vistara, several other international airlines began their services from Mumbai namely Malindo, Druk Air, Fly Dubai, Air Seychelles, Singapore Airlines started with their Airbus 380 operation followed by Emirates.
In keeping with its culture of caring, GVK MIAL introduced the exclusive ‘Pranaam GVK Guest Services’ last year to provide its passengers with a seamless and stress-free experience while travelling through CSIA, offering an array of services for passengers to choose from, regardless of the airline or class of travel.
Furthering its move to enhance passenger comfort, it started with; around the clock valet parking, online taxi booking facilities and a dedicated meeting and greeting area at Level 2 of the airport for the relatives of passengers and with many more such facilities expected to be introduced over a period of time. In its continuous endeavour towards enhancing travel experience, T2 opened the first ever common luxury lounge “GVK Lounge” for first class and business class travellers, unlike any other airport in the world, which usually have separate lounges for different airlines.
The T2 terminal currently handles passenger flights for 43 international carriers across 46 destinations, and is steadily expanding its reach to connect passengers to important locations across the world.
