Bird Group’s Catering Wing Enters into Railway Catering Business

Known for it’s Airport Lounges, Food Court and food trucks at airports, the recent opening of 24-hour Food Plaza at the iconic Old Delhi Railway Station, marks Bird Catering & Lounges’ foray into the railway segment.

Bird Group, one of the most diversified Travel & Aviation Services company, has entered into the business of food catering at Railway Stations. It’s catering and lounges business division, Bird Catering & Lounges, has recently opened a state-of-the-art Food Plaza at the iconic Old Delhi Railway Station, a nearly 125 years old listed heritage site, built in the image of the nearby Red Fort, a UNISCO World Heritage Site.

The Food Plaza, located at a vantage and right in the middle of the iconic building, will be at the center of food and catering services, attending to travellers boarding and alighting from close to 300 trains at one of the busiest Railway Stations of the country. The Food Plaza is also designed to offer rest and relaxation to weary travellers seeking a cosy comfortable setting. Besides, the Plaza’s food is also available on aggregators like Zomato and Swiggy.

Spread over two levels (Ground floor plus one), the Food Plaza is a massive 220 cover restaurant and will offer 24 x 7 food services, high speed wi-fi. The Plaza’s kitchen boasts of a state-of-the-art facility with exceptional standards of hygiene and quality.

Coming from a renowned brand known for its slick airport lounges, and not to forget one of Delhi NCR’s landmark hospitality address, The Roseate New Delhi, a Delhi Aerocity Hotel, The Plaza’s outstanding menu encompasses delectable specialties such as street foods from Old Delhi and from across India, vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis, paranthas, salads, value combo meals, classics like chole bhature, Chinese street food, chicken tikka kathi rolls, samosas and signature masala chai, a wide selection of South Indian food, and a lot more. The menu also includes popular fast foods like burgers and pizzas, sandwiches and beverages and scrumptious desserts.

“We are embarking on an exciting journey, expanding our presence with upcoming outlets in prominent locations such as Omaxe Mall, Chandni Chowk and ANS Mall in Tughlakabad, Haldwani Railway Station & Ambala Cantt Railway Station. The Plaza is also high on sustainability quotients with measures to in place to minimise waste, conserve energy and promote sustainable sourcing or raw materials. For example, the Plaza will package food exclusively using paper products and not plastic.
