Said to be milestone Indian wedding in Vietnam, this event also boosted Vinpearl’s interest in being a premier destination for luxurious weddings in Asia.
Vo Ba Chuong, General Manager of Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An, told T3 that this grand Indian wedding was a milestone event for the property. Its scale and exclusivity not only contributed significantly to revenue but also strengthened Vinpearl’s reputation in the Indian market.
Chuong stated, “Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback, we are already in discussions for similar events in the coming months, ensuring that Vinpearl remains a top choice for luxury destination weddings in Asia.”
Sharing his thoughts on the challenges, Chuong noted that the biggest hurdles included coordinating multiple venues within the resort for various ceremonies, meeting diverse and specific culinary preferences, and ensuring seamless logistics for a large group.
“To overcome these challenges, we deployed a dedicated wedding task force that worked closely with the event planners, ensuring every detail was executed to perfection. Our culinary team curated an extensive Indian menu, featuring authentic regional flavours prepared by experienced chefs. Additionally, logistics were streamlined through meticulous scheduling, ensuring smooth airport transfers, guest check-ins, and event transitions, setting a new benchmark for destination weddings in Vietnam”, added Chuong.
Chetan Gandhi, Director of Travel 360 Degree, emphasized the seamless execution of the event, which was supported by a team of over 100 personnel. The wedding generated more than $1 million in revenue across multiple sectors, including hospitality, catering, logistics, sightseeing, guides, décor, and local services, highlighting Vietnam’s growing appeal as a preferred destination for opulent Indian weddings.
“Successful events of this scale can significantly contribute to Vietnam’s tourism industry by driving demand for premium accommodations, cultural experiences, and specialized services. This, in turn, will further enhance Vietnam’s reputation as a luxury wedding destination, attracting high-spending travellers and boosting the local economy. The seamless execution of such grand weddings can also encourage investment in wedding-related infrastructure, further strengthening Vietnam’s appeal for future events,” expressed Gandhi.
Discussing the challenges, Gandhi echoed Chuong’s observations, also acknowledged that managing the cultural requirements of Indian guests is never easy. However, this wedding showcased Vietnam’s capability to host large-scale Indian weddings while effectively accommodating their cultural and logistical needs. He added, “One of the biggest hurdles was the limited number of direct flights from India. My team managed this by maintaining constant communication with airlines to ensure guests had smooth connections to Vietnam.”
“Indian cuisine is essential to any Indian wedding. To maintain authenticity, we collaborated with top Indian restaurants in Vietnam and brought in skilled chefs from India. This ensured that the food quality and taste remained at the highest standard,” shared Gandhi. He also noted that communication with local vendors can be challenging. To overcome this, the team worked closely with the local DMC and English-speaking guides to ensure smooth coordination.
