Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is organizing the ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude’ on November 29, 2024 at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi. The event will be graced by the esteemed presence of Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh. Representatives from various central government ministries and institutions, ambassadors and high commissioners from numerous countries, as well as state secretaries and chief secretaries, will also attend this prestigious event.
The ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude,’ organized by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, aims to offer a glimpse into the sacred city of Prayagraj and its pilgrimage sites. This special event marks the beginning of a spiritual, cultural, and traditional journey that will culminate in 2025 with the world’s largest spiritual gathering, the Mahakumbh. The Prelude is designed to showcase the significance, values, and preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 on a global platform.
The Prelude event will begin with the arrival of distinguished guests on Friday evening, followed by a tour of the exhibition. The cultural program will feature various performances, and the formal session will include welcome speeches, film screenings on Mahakumbh 2025, and a discussion session.
Singh, stated that Mahakumbh 2025 will take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26. He described it as a historic and unparalleled moment of pride for the state. Singh emphasized the commitment to making Mahakumbh 2025 the grandest and most divine event yet and said that the Prelude offers a preview of the state’s preparations for this monumental gathering.
The minister further explained that the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department’s goal is to promote Mahakumbh not only as a religious event but also as a major global tourism attraction to draw international visitors. Mahakumbh is expected to welcome millions of pilgrims from across the globe. Singh emphasized the importance of connecting visitors with India’s glorious culture, values, and traditions through this global event.
Singh also revealed that ambassadors, high commissioners, and officials from countries such as Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the USA, Malaysia, Myanmar, the United Kingdom, Mauritius, South Africa, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Brazil, Nigeria, and Japan, among others, have been invited to the Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude. Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh will also be present.
