The Water Laser Show, launched during the Mahakumbh at the banks of the Sangam, along with facade lighting at various religious and spiritual sites, will continue for the next five years.
Prayagraj is gearing up to attract tourists throughout the year. The Water Laser Show, launched during the Mahakumbh at the banks of the Sangam, along with facade lighting at various religious and spiritual sites, will continue for the next five years. “This initiative is aimed to provide visitors from across the country and the world with a unique and immersive experience,” said Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Uttar Pradesh.
The minister stated that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a leading state in the tourism sector. It currently attracts the highest number of domestic tourists, and continuous efforts are being made to achieve similar success in attracting international tourists. As part of this initiative, infrastructure and facilities at major tourist sites are being consistently enhanced.
During the Mahakumbh, a Water Laser Show was introduced at Kali Ghat near the Boat Club on the Yamuna River. The show featured visual projections on a water screen, bringing to life the historical and spiritual narratives of Prayagraj and the Mahakumbh. The combination of images and sound provided visitors with an opportunity to experience the divinity and historical significance of these sacred locations. Held daily between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the show featured two performances, each lasting 45 minutes, drawing a large number of tourists to witness it. Given the public interest, the Water Laser Show has been extended for the next five years. Visitors can now enjoy the show daily from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM.
Additionally, the facade lighting at key religious sites, including Alopi Temple and Nagvasuki Temple, will also be extended for five years, ensuring that tourists can enjoy these facilities year-round.
Singh also emphasised that the goal is to make Prayagraj not only for hosting Mahakumbh but an all-year tourist hotspot.
