SIHOT is opening a regional office in Austria, making it the eighth global location alongside Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Spain and Portugal.
The hotel IT specialists, headquartered in Schiffweiler, Germany, selected Austria due to the market appeal of the vibrant and independent hotel industry. An attractive travel destination with a high hotel density, Austria counted around 11,300 hotel establishments in 2021, more than half of them in the 3- and 4-star segment.
Furthermore, Austria proved comparatively stable during the crisis, because while the number of arrivals in Europe as a whole fell by 74%, the figure in Austria was only 45.8%, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
SIHOT already has a number of customers in the country including Hotel Mondschein am Arlberg, BründlSpa in Bad Leonfelden and Schwärzler Hotels. Austrian hotels and property management companies will benefit from direct sales and account management of its SIHOT comprehensive, modular and SaaS cloud-based hotel technology. With access to the full portfolio including booking engine, POS and C&B, which are particularly suitable for accommodation businesses with at least 30 rooms and 3 stars or more.
“Austrian tourism is traditionally strong, and guests are loyal,” said SIHOT Executive Board Member, Carsten Wernet, SIHOT. “We see good market potential for us here with a huge number of independent hotels and very few chain businesses, which we traditionally serve strongly.”
