Kempinski launches its first hotel in India

Kempinski Ambience Delhi, which is slated to launch in December this year, is all set to make a mark on East Delhi- Noida, Ghaziabad’s hospitality horizon. This is the first independent hotel from Kempinski in India. The group has been present here with Hotel Leelaventure Ltd for the past 25 years.

Kempinski Ambience Delhi expects to do good business due to its location. According to Vella Ramasawmy, General Manager, Kempinski Ambience Delhi, the hotel took three years to build. “Our aim is to promote Delhi as a MICE destination and hope to notch good business. We are a 480 room hotel and can afford to allocate 100 per cent room inventory for any event. There are other hotels in Delhi but then they have tied up with different segments and cannot afford to offer their entire inventory to MICE groups,” Ramasawmy said, adding that the hotel offers a magnificent 70,000 sq ft MICE facility.

“In addition to MICE, we are looking to tap some leisure business as well. Our captive market is Ghaziabad, Noida and Mayur Vihar,” he said. So far, Kempinski Ambience Delhi has already signed account with 46 corporate offices. “We also have 18 weddings booked with us for the next year and the minimum size of each is 1,800 pax,” Ramasawmy added.

Apart from the MICE and corporate business, Kempinski Ambience Delhi also expects a good support in annual revenue from the F&B segment.

Ramasawmy expects 40 per cent occupancy during the first year of its operation. “For the second year, we are expecting an average occupancy of 60 per cent. The rate strategy has to be analysed and needs to be aligned with the demand and supply of the market,” he added.
