In order to discuss the scenario on domestic tourism, an ADTOI delegation led by its President, Jyoti Kapur met Vinod Zutshi, Secretary (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. It was the first meeting the delegation had with Zutshi since he had taken over the charge.
During the discussion, Kapur explained about the activities of ADTOI and its commitment to the promotion of Domestic Tourism. He requested the support of the Ministry, which the Association has been getting over the years, in resolving certain issues which are deterrent to the growth of tourism in the country. Kapur presented paper to Zutshi Highlighting some vital points, such as promotion of Integrated Tourism Circuits / Regional Tourism, to create a national platform to promote domestic tourism , State Tourisms to have Tourism Information Offices, in respective States, for Ministry’s consideration to take up with the appropriate authorities. Zutshi while assuring the delegation for looking into the issues thanked ADTOI for its efforts in promoting the domestic tourism.
Earlier during the month of June 2015 a meeting with Minister of State for Tourism, Mahesh Sharma took place to discuss about the scenario of Domestic Tourism in the country. ADTOI delegation presented a list of points for consideration of the Govt. for the growth of domestic tourism.
