Kati Paasi, Director of Business Development, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said, “This was the first FAM trip from India Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority hosted as part of the plan of increasing the destination awareness in India among travel professionals. The feedback of the group was very positive and most participants were surprised about all the facilities and luxurious hotels the destination offers. Ras Al Khaimah is located just 45 minutes from Dubai international airport and 35 minutes from Sharjah airport. Air Arabia is planning routes directly from India to Ras Al Khaimah airport in the near future. The connectivity is excellent and the destination has a lot to offer. Ras Al Khaimah is the hidden pearl to be discovered and we are excited to increase the awareness in the Indian market during the coming months.”

The group also conducted site inspections and savoured gourmet meals at few of the recently opened hotels in the Emirate such as The DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island, Marjan Island Resort & Spa & Rixos Bab Al Bahr which cumulatively offer 1500 new rooms on the prestigious Marjan Island, a cluster of five man-made islands in an upscale area in Ras Al Khaimah near Al Hamra.

Christine Galle, Managing Director, Heavens Portfolio said, “We are indeed delighted to initiate Fam trips to Ras Al Khaimah from India to establish itself as a fresh and exciting getaway for families, spa and adventure seekers alike. Ras Al Khaimah recently announced that it grew its hotel guests in the first quarter of this year by 53 per cent versus the same period in 2013, with almost half a million hotel guests visiting the Emirate in January, February and March and making Ras Al Khaimah one of the fastest growing leisure destinations in the world and we are certainly working towards introducing this destination to the Indian traveller.”
