The Germany India Pool roadshow which was recently conducted in Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, received an excellent response from the travel trade in the city, further aiding in interactions with the trade on the Best Selling Practices for the destination. With the increased interest in Germany, and to educate, inform about experiences and various activities, GNTO organizes the India Pool multi-city roadshow twice a year.
Romit Theophilus, Director Sales & Marketing, The German National Tourist Office, India, said, “Over the years, the initiative of India Pool has resulted in a greater awareness of destination Germany’s attractions besides providing regular updates to the travel trade & media. 2013 witnessed 5 per cent growth despite the devaluation of rupee and the economic scenario. We are optimistic for 2014 and expect the growth rate to be back in double digits. For the period January-November 2013, Germany has witnessed 5,81,374 visitor overnights. We are glad to learn that the travel trade in all these cities understands and support Germany as a destination.”
The roadshow aims at facilitating interactions on latest updates, highlights and attractions for the Indian travellers between India Pool members and the Travel trade. Partners that were part of the roadshow included Saxony Tourism, Maritime Hotels, Lufthansa.
