After successfully showcasing of Maharashtra in Berlin, the delegation of State of Maharashtra and MTDC along with the cultural troop under the leadership of Sumit Mullick, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism), Govt. of Maharashtra, headed to Milan, Italy for showcasing Maharashtra amongst the travel trade fraternity in Italy. India Tourism Office, Milan gave MTDC a strong support for organising this Road show. MTDC received attendance of about 90 travel traders amongst which 90 per cent were the tour operators.
A road show was organised at Indian Embassy Hall in Berlin for the promotion of Maharashtra Tourism amongst the travel trade and media fraternity of Western Europe present in Berlin. The delegates then travelled further to Milan, Italy and organised a road show for the travel trade and media based in Milan and surrounding areas.
MTDC had invited about 60 Travel Agents and Tour Operators promoting India and about 70 electronic and print media. The inaugural speech was delivered by Indian Ambassador Vijay Gokhale. Mullick gave presentation which highlighted Maharashtra to the dignitaries, press and tour operators present.
