British Airways to fly daily to Hyderabad

After increasing its weekly frequency from Hyderabad in October 2012 and receiving a fantastic customer response thereafter, British Airways announced additional increase in its non-stop service to London from Hyderabad at a press conference. Starting 27 October 2013, the airline will fly daily between the two cities. The daily flights will be operated by a Boeing 777-200.

Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia, said, “It is a joyous moment for us at British Airways to further enhance our services to India, which is our second largest market outside the UK. For British Airways, Hyderabad is truly a key market in our South Asian network. We have witnessed tremendous growth in the market since 2008, resulting in concerted growth in the outbound business and leisure tourism. Our customers from Hyderabad will now be able to enjoy daily service to the UK whilst enjoying British Airways’ unmatched inflight services and flying experience.”

British Airways had increased its service to Hyderabad to six flights per-week from five flights per-week in October 2012 reporting 20 per cent increase in general capacity from the city. The premium airline will further increase its capacity to 40 per cent from Hyderabad by November 2013.

To take its customer experience to the next level, British Airways has committed to invest more than GBP 5 billion in its products and services. The investment will see British Airways’ customers benefiting from new aircraft, new World Traveller economy and World Traveller Plus premium economy cabins, a revamped First class and better lounges around British Airways’ network. Funds will also be allocated to improved catering and new technologies to make the travel experience more comfortable and convenient for customers on the ground and in the air.
