Goa Tourism Introduces Exciting ‘Moonlight Kayaking’ with Goa Kayaking

Goa-based kayaking club, Goa Kayaking, in association with Goa Tourism and GTDC will conduct a limited edition of special moonlight kayaking program this April.

Kayaking in the moonlight is a unique activity in India and Goa Kayaking is the only one to offer it so far. Nilesh Cabral, Chairman, GTDC, said, “Moonlight kayaking on the Zuari is a very special activity and we encourage everyone to participate in it and experience the joy and the serenity that it offers.

Moonlight kayaking will be offered only for five days, daily on April 24-28 2013. It will start from Cortalim Ferry Jetty and end at San Jacinto Island in approximately two hours from 9pm to 11pm.

Prakash Alfonso, Director of Goa Kayaking, said, “We have chosen these days since April 25 will have a full moon and make for a well-lit night – perfect for midnight kayaking. Although we say two hours, kayakers enjoy this so much that it goes on till midnight. We will be conducting only one trip per day and limiting the number of participants to 12 pax per trip which is available at Rs 2,500 per person.”

Vasco-based Goa Kayaking specialises in kayaking and canoeing excursions along the coast, rivers and backwaters of Goa. It also conducts training programs since 2009 during the summer and Diwali holidays. So far it has undertaken 10 such programs. They are conducted by highly experienced water sports professionals and accredited water sports instructors. These trips are completely environment friendly leaving absolutely no trace of the visits. Participants will be provided with all equipment, flotation devices, kayaks, and paddles along with instruction sessions from experts.
