Mauritius Set to Host Maiden India Virtual Roadshow on Sept 24

Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) has joined hands with Informa Markets, the country’s leading B2B event organizers, to organize the first-ever Virtual Roadshow. Set to be live on September 24, 2020, the roadshow will be an opportunity for the Indian travel trade fraternity to interact and reconnect with 47 key Mauritian partners across Hotels, Airlines, Associations, Cruises and much more under the patronage of MTPA. Further, to maintain quality, buyers and visitors are handpicked, approached and invited to the event and it will be an invitation-only meet for the B2B travel trade.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets India, said, “Our first virtual road show with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority is as apt as it is symbolic. India and Mauritius share a strong legacy of history, tradition, and culture. Besides, our organisation has always had a very strong bond with MTPA with unique activities in the past. The unprecedented hurdles posed by the pandemic require out-of-the-box solutions. The roadshow, with 47 exhibitors along with Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority and over 1000 buyers, is bound to be symbolic of the resilience and keenness of the sector and industry at large to overcome the setback created by the ongoing pandemic. I am certain the information sharing and networking opportunities the roadshow will foster, can only yield extremely positive results. In India, we clearly see a pent-up demand for leisure travel and this roadshow will help position Mauritius as a top of the mind destination for Indians.”

Speaking about the first ever Mauritius Virtual roadshow Arvind Bundhun, Director, MTPA, said, “India is one of the main markets for us. It is a natural destination for the Indian traveller due to a shared heritage and culture between the two countries and a relationship that goes back nearly two hundred years. The Indian Outbound Travel Agents eagerly await this annual event. This year, given the conditions, we have a virtual event. This gives an opportunity to the Indian agents to meet about 47 companies from Mauritius. They can connect with the Tourism Board, Airline, Hotels, DMCs and activity companies. MTPA has been associated with Informa (erstwhile UBM) for over 25 years. Given their expertise in this domain, we decided to partner with them for our event.”

The confirmed delegation led by MTPA will include; Beachcomber Hotels & Resorts; Four Seasons Resort; Intercontinental Hotels Group; Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa; The LUX* Collective; Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa; Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort; Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa; Sofitel Mauritius; Marriott Mauritius; Sun Resorts; The Residence; VLH; Radisson Blu Mauritius; Sand Suites Resorts & Spa; Anantara Iko; Trimetys Group; Sea Resorts Hotel; Shangri La; Alizee Resort; Attitude Hotels; Air Mauritius; La Vanille Nature Park; Casela World of Adventures; Splash N Fun Leisure Park; La Vallee des Couleurs; Association Des Hoteliers Et Restaurateurs (AHRIM); Constance Hotels & Resorts; The Oberoi Hotels; Bakwa Lodge; Association Des Hotels De Charme; Manisa Hotel; Indibleu; Oceanic Villa; Association Of Leisure Operators (ALO); Blue Safari Submarines; Sunzee Holidays; One Above; Bonny Air; Holidays Seven Ltd; Intune Travel; Mauritius Holiday Travel; Seaside Holidays; Silver Wings Travel; Solis Indian Ocean; Tam Tam Tours; Travel Designer and Thomas Cook and more.

Bundhun further added, “We expect that the Indian agents will get a better, and in-depth, understanding of the products and services offered by the Mauritian companies. This will eventually help them to sell better and increases the number of tourists arriving to Mauritius.”

The Virtual Roadshow is expected to welcome over 1000 Indian buyers.
