NYC & Company, New York City’s official, destination marketing organisation, is leading its first standalone sales mission to Mumbai, Ahmadabad and New Delhi from February 19-23 to promote travel to New York City. Makiko Matsuda Healy, Managing Director, Tourism Market Development is joined by senior executives from Empire State Building and One World Observatory, who will be conducting one-on-one meetings and workshops with various travel trade partners.
Healy said, “New York City welcomed estimated 343,000 visitors from India in 2017, reflecting a growth of 6.5 per cent over the previous year. The Indian visitor market represents great potential for New York City’s tourism industry, and we are committed to building on this growth. There are more reasons than ever for Indian travellers to choose NYC for their nest holiday.”
NYC & Company also shared news on one of the City’s most well-known areas, Midtown Manhattan with new attractions such as SPYSCAPE, Gulliver’s Gate, National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey and NFL Experience Times Square. New York City currently has 116,000 rooms for visitor accommodations, and is expected to increase to 137,000 by end of 2020.
