The 2nd Hong Kong Cyclothon, hosted by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), will be staged on 25 September, and has been scaled up to be the biggest event ever of its kind in Hong Kong. More than 4,000 cyclists from Hong Kong and around the globe will cross the starting line. Two highlights include the 50km and 30km rides, which take the riders past a number of the city’s iconic landmarks, including the stunning backdrop of Victoria Harbour. On the 50km ride, the cyclists also have the rare opportunity of speeding along three major bridges, including the Tsing Ma Bridge.
This year’s Hong Kong Cyclothon is also the anchor event of Hong Kong Sports Month, with its four races and five rides held on the same day. Visitors can watch world-class cyclists up close, racing across the finishing line and cheer on them alongside tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world.
This year, the extended route covers some of Hong Kong’s iconic landmarks, and cyclists in the 30km and 50km rides can enjoy the magnificent view from Stonecutters Bridge.
