Monaco Takes Opera Route to Promote its Tourism in India

Visit Monaco – India office, recently organised an evening of the Opera to embark upon a cultural journey that showcased the essence of Monaco’s popular Opera culture for the first time in India. Connecting the culture of both the countries, the evening was a mix of French Operatic Arias and Indian melodies and the intertwining of these musical cultures found a voice in one of the youngest millennial Indian origin Opera and Art Singer, Pallavi Seth, who was accompanied by Birraj Singh Taneja on the Piano.

Commenting on the occasion, Seth said: “I look forward to the opportunity of performing on the stage of Opera de Monte-Carlo. For a performer, that is a stage one would want to be on.”

Located only few steps away from the Hotel de Paris and the Casino Square, the Opera of Monaco was inaugurated in 1879 as the jewel of the Casino de Monte-Carlo. The Opera, built by the famous architect Charles Garnier, is also known as the Salle Empire.

The awe-inspiring auditorium of the opera house is decorated in red and gold and art and sculptures. Glance up at the fresco-lined ceiling, the décor of Opera is flamboyant yet elegant.

The “Terraces of the Opera de Monte-Carlo” have welcomed the most prestigious and historic events of the Principality, which continues to put Monaco, at the top of the global events calendar. The venue also hosts the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival which attracts big names to play on its stage every November. Grabbing a show during your visit here is a guaranteed highlight.

By way of this special collaboration, Visit Monaco is proud to introduce the Art of Opera Singing in India, and further dreams to open more avenues of this grand experience to be embedded in Bollywood and theatrical industry of India.

The Principality of Monaco is full of places and cultural events of all kinds, from operas and concerts, including the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, museums and exhibitions; culture is in all its forms in Monaco.

Monte-Carlo has been an aspirational symbol of luxury and glamour. With a prime focus on exploring the magnetic heritage and culture of this seaside Mediterranean landscape, this special event accentuated the perfect balance between history, art, modernity and luxury.
