Vietjet has announced five new international routes connecting New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore to Vietnam’s famous coastal city of Da Nang. The new services will operate within the third quarter of 2022 with four to seven return flights per week.  

The announcement was recently made at the Da Nang Investment Forum 2022 with the participation of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The event also marks Vietjet’s announcement to incorporate Da Nang’s tourism symbol on its fleet to promote the city globally.   

Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice President, Vietjet, said: "Da Nang is Vietnam’s one of the most attractive destinations for international tourists. Vietjet has transported nearly 22 million passengers from, to Da Nang so far and currently operates 8 domestic and 5 international routes from and to Da Nang. Vietjet believes that the new routes announced today will continue to contribute to opening more opportunities, promoting economic, trade and business investment between Da Nang and other Vietnamese cities and regional destinations."  

With many positive activities and connections with Da Nang along Vietnam’s “Central heritage road”, Vietjet has constantly opened more routes, offering more flight options with diversified flight schedules and happy experience for passengers on its new and modern fleet.  

Vietjet currently operates four services between Vietnam and India, including New Delhi/Mumbai - Hanoi and New Delhi/Mumbai - Ho Chi Minh City. It will launch two more routes connecting New Delhi and Mumbai with the island city of Phu Quoc in September 2022. Tickets can be purchased now on Vietjet’s website with fares starting as low as US$18 for one way (excluding taxes and fees).  

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) announced the signing of a new Taj resort in Bengaluru. This development project, under management contract with Sattva Homes Private Limited from the Sattva Group, will also feature branded villas as part of the complex in the second phase.   

Commenting on the signing, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said, “The signing of this resort, the seventh property under the Taj brand in Bengaluru, will further strengthen IHCL’s presence in one of India’s top commercial cities with a constantly evolving hospitality landscape. This resort getaway will be our 13th hotel across brands in Bengaluru. We are delighted to partner with the Sattva Group for this project.”

The resort, spread over 45 acres, is located at Rajanukunte in North Bengaluru, within driving distance from both the city centre as well as the airport. The greenfield project will have 254 keys and 50 Taj branded villas.

Adrija Agarwal, Director, Sattva, said, “The proposed Taj urban resort will be a great new address in the city and it would appeal to all kinds of guests. It is the group’s formal foray into hospitality and we are pleased to collaborate with IHCL’s iconic brand Taj as a first step in our partnership.”

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have a total of 13 hotels with around 3,000 rooms in Bengaluru, including five under development.

 

Etihad Airways is inviting guests stopover in Abu Dhabi with three different offers that suit everyone.  With the relaunch of Etihad Stopovers, travellers can benefit from 40% discounted prices at one of Abu Dhabi’s premium four-star and five-star hotels participating in this campaign, or from a one or two-nights complimentary stay in a three or four-star participating hotel.

The third new option is Transit Connect, where the guests on eligible routes can book a complimentary hotel near Abu Dhabi International Airport if their flight connection time inbu Dhabi is between 10 and 24 hours.

Experience Hub, the trade and promotion arm of Yas Island Abu Dhabi and a subsidiary of Miral and Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi (DCT) partnered to host 45 Indian leisure and MICE travel agents on a four-day familiarisation trip to Abu Dhabi.

VFS Global has signed a contract with the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority to serve as their Market Based Representatives in India. In this role, VFS Global will be responsible for building trade relations with regional stakeholders, and promoting the destination through online and offline marketing, including social media, as well as public relations.

GO FIRST announced the introduction of triweekly to and fro direct flights from Kochi to Abu Dhabi starting 28th June 2022. The carrier will operate three direct flight services per week between Kochi and Abu Dhabi.

Conference and congress centre Grimaldi Forum Monaco is expanding to a whopping 80,000 sq. mt by 2025 from the current area of 70,000 sq mt. The current modular area is 35,000 square meters, which will grow to 41,000 square meters by 2025. The vast facility also has 3 auditoriums with 1,800, 800 and 400 seats.

In just two and a half years, the Principality of Monaco’s Congress and Cultural Centre will increase its exhibition capacity by 50%, with 6,000 square metres of additional space. Connected to the rest of the building by a direct link to the Diaghilev exhibition hall, access to this extension will also be via an independent external entrance located on the seaward side.

Monaco is championing sustainable tourism and the Grimaldi Forum is exemplary in this initiative. With Mareterra, the eco-district project currently under construction, which has been decided by the Monegasque government and in which this extension is being built, the entire environment of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco will offer a new dimension. 

This eco-district project will offer housing, a car park, shops, restaurants, a pine tree forest and a marina. Answering to very strict environmental requirements, it is part of the Principality’s objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Air Canada has announced the resumption of its seasonal service from Mumbai to Toronto, now operating via London Heathrow, starting 31 October 2022 – 26 March 2023.

Mumbai is the airline’s second destination in the strategic India market. The new route is subject to receiving final government approvals.

“Our flights will not only provide our customers from India with access to Toronto, but also a direct link to London Heathrow, enabling convenient one-stop connections to destinations across Canada with Air Canada, including Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, as well as the United States, including Denver, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, Washington and Boston with our Star Alliance partner, United Airlines.”

The planned service between Mumbai and Toronto via London-Heathrow will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
